The process:

Italian succession law follows forced heirship rules unfamiliar to common law jurisdictions. International estates require determining which law applies under EU Succession Regulation 650/2012. Wills drafted abroad may not achieve intended results under Italian law.

I work with clients to understand how Italian family law affects their situation and coordinate with foreign counsel when multiple jurisdictions are involved.
